An unusual creature from birth, Idriess has led a life full of laughter and loss, sadness and joy, triumph and tragedy. Born of the mating between an Amethyst dragon and a Steel dragon, her dual nature made her an outcast from draconic society. Idriess learned early in life that it was easier and safer to travel using the talents of shape changing which she inherited from her mother. After several experiments, Idriess settled on the shape of a half-elven girl with silky white hair and her own deep violet eyes. Traveling thus she made her way to Rhydin. It was in Rhydin where she found acceptance in an organization known as the Shadow Guardians of Rhydin, led by Kyna Stormbringer. She founded and ran the venerable Healing Guild Healers of the North Wind, allied to SGoR but neutral and willing to aid all. During this time she first met the young Moonelf Bard Rae N'Alsia, who immediately took to calling her "Iddie" and later on with reverence and love "Momma." She remained with the Shadow Guardians for several years, working her way up through the ranks until finally reaching the rank of Deputy Grand Commander, where she remained until Kyna left the Shadow Guardians to pursue the darkest love of all in the arms of Slash Mustaine. Idriess took on the role of Grand Commander, and was well loved in this role. It was during this time that she met Andre Cailloux upon the battle field. Though they came together as enemies they left that battle field as friends. It would be Andre who introduced her to the first man she had ever loved, his brother, Kenjira Toshiyora. Charming and humorous the undead leader of the Shadow Warriors captured her heart even as he made her smile. It would be Kenjira who was the first man to learn her secret, that she was not a young half-elven girl but a dragon in disguise. His acceptance of her proved the final straw, she fell in love. It was not long before Idriess became a familiar sight around the Keep where she met and made many friends not the least of which was Alexander King. These were among the happiest days of her life, yet it was not to last. Making her way towards the Keep one fine afternoon a flower hair pin in her hand, a joke between herself and Kenjira, she was set upon by a Dragonslayer. Her beloved daughter of the heart had a premonition but ill as she was with a foolish pregnancy to please her then husband she was unable to figure it out until it was far to late to warn her gentle Momma. Had she any inkling that she was in danger she might have been better up to the task of protecting herself. Even so she managed to mortally wound the slayer even as she herself lay dying. All her hopes and dreams seemed to crumble in that instant, yet she managed to gather enough strength to send her beloved one final message before darkness closed about her. They say heaven is what you make of it, and for Idriess this was true. Heaven was a fine place to be for when she died her memories of her former life were stripped from her. Yet Idriess' innocent happiness did not last, for by some strange event she came across the hourglass that contained her lost memories and it was then that she began to mourn all that she had lost upon her death. Her tears moved the dragon god Chronopsis, who allowed her to return to those she so yearned for. Yet she returned in ghostly fashion, her memories still incomplete. It would be months before she could remember many of those whom she loved so much in life. Time had passed in the realms while she was away. Some had passed on themselves, others had moved on to new loves, Kenjira being one of the latter. The more time she spent with her former comrades the more time she realized that what she sought was not among their ranks, no matter how cherished their company. It was then she returned to the daughter of her heart, and began her life anew in RoseHaven. Her healing skills had not lessened with time and she saved many lives during the poisonings during the Trade Wars, one of those lives being that of Jareth Ingwe, the owner and proprietor of the legendary Claw and Cross ... the man that she would marry and become partners with in all ways. |
